In early 2013 Sosnowka Dub was kind of founded after messing around on plug.dj with our friend Mr Dub Architect.
During the following summer Kim got a KORG Kaossilator 2 which we call our "Mr. Oizonator" ever since due to the crazy sounds it creates, instantly reminding us of Mr Oizo (aka Quentin Dupieux).
Over the dark time of winter we spent our time putting together a little Compilation of free Dub from the Internet called "Free Dub Vol. 1" we gave away in July 2014 at the Summerjam Festival.
Also in time for Summerjam Peter got a Bose SoundLink III which serves as our first "soundsystem".
In late summer 2014 our website was first launched. We also reserved a facebook page and soundcloud page, where content is yet to come.
Since we love listening to and talking about music and visiting concerts and other events, Levi started the Sosnowka Dub Blog (german content) where he talks about events he attended inna Berlin city and does reviews about recent albums.
The latest edition to our arsenal is a Denon DJ MC2000 digital turntable controller Peter bought in autumn 2014.
On November 17 2014 our friend Dub Thomas of the Dubophonic Netlabel played Twiximillia - Deep Forest Dub (Sosnowka Cut) in his show "Blessed Monday Vibration" on the versionist.net webradio for the first time. Listen to the Podcast:
Beginning 2015 we started recording mixtapes on our own, namely "The Introduction to Sosnowka Dub" as well as "SosnowSka" by Peter Skarres, all available via the mixtape section of our website and our mixcloud page.
After talking to various people in the Aachen Reggae scene we were invited by our friends of the Toppa di Hill crew to help out on their "Reggae & Soul" event on March 26 2015 at Hotel Europa, marking the first official Sosnowka Dub live event with selections by Ras Skirata and Junior Levi. The event was reprised two weeks later (April 9 2015) with Ras Skirata and also for the first time Peter Skarres live on the controls.
On July 11th Small Axe invited us to open at their Reggae Rotation Party in Aachen Musikbunker. Peter Skarres & Ras Skirata pon the controls. Look on facebook for the official pics by L.Bass.
Both events have since then become a biweekly and monthly event on Sosnowka Dub's agenda respectively.
On August 2nd german music blog Progolog featured our latest mixtape on their site.
December 2015 marked the busiest month to date with Sosnowka Dub playing at three editions of "Reggae, Soul & Dub" including a special concert event featuring I Finton, Reggae Rotation featuring Marley's Ghost, Rockers Heiligabend and the New Years Party "Sky is not the Limit" all longside the Reggae Rotation crew, as well as the first time on Outta Mi Yard Radio (former Versionist Village Radio) with the whole crew assembled.
